Here is the assembly of a set of custom rain scuppers I fabricated to better give you an idea of what I can offer you

This leader-head project was made in 2008 for a local client who would rather not be named. This was my first client to request I recreate that old classic style leader-head I had replaced back in 2002 on Dale Yocum's house: http://dmr-gutters.com/cg/Yocum.htm

He had me make 7 of these. The old scupper was 17" wide, so I had to carefully scale it down to fit the 14" width this client wanted to go on his remodeled house in Southeast Portland, Oregon along with the 521' 20oz copper gutters + downspouts. His cost was $500 each installed back in 2008. I gave him a really good deal on this set. These days I would have to charge considerably more for this level of intricate detail.

This shows the many pieces I needed to reshape and form from short pieces of 20oz copper gutter for each side of these decorative leader-heads. I rolled them over different size copper pipes to change the curvature of each section and make sure each piece matched my template.

Then there was the tedious task to trim each of these pieces and attach them together with these tricky angles. I choose not to solder them together because that discolors the copper and leaves gray smears of solder in the seams. With the smooth funnel liner these have there is no need to seal this outer shell water tight.

I had to make back plates for them and figure out what dimensions the inner funnel needed to be to fit inside this shell. This took several days to get this far with the first leader-head. The outside width along the top is 14, but the inside width is only 9" wide.

.

I had to polish them to get a decent photo here. As you can see these are a bit smaller than the old leader-head I had based them from.

I decided to add this copper pipe along the top back wall for added strength and better attachment to the wall of their house. I also added some pipe trim near the bottom.

The top of the funnel is tapered outwards to help shed any water or debris. Once completed they felt pretty solid.

These 3 units in the foreground are the super outlets that I make that get mounted just under the gutter at the expansion joints and feed the rain water back into these leader-heads. To see more of this gutter project go to: http://dmr-gutters.com/cg/TaraNorth.htm
